A a few „must-see“ trips here:
*The Golden Circle has 3 of the most popular attractions in Iceland: Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir and Thingvellir national park. At the Thingvellir national park, you can visit a ridge between The Eurasian and North American tectonic plates, along with Iceland´s first parliament. http://reykjaviksightseeing.is/tours/golden-circle-classic-tour
*The South Shore is another wonderful day tour. There you have two beautiful but very different waterfalls called Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Seljalandsfoss is very unique because you are able to walk behind it. You can also visit the Reynisfjara shore, also known as the the black sand beach. Most of the tour companies visit these three destinations, along with a few different ones depending on the company. http://reykjaviksightseeing.is/tours/south-coast-classic-tour
*Blue Lagoon, we would recommend you to book it a week or two in advance as it often gets fully booked. You can book it directly through their website as they require credit card and personal details it would be best if you do it yourself: http://www.bluelagoon.com/
*Snæfellsnes : The Snæfellsnes peninsula in West Iceland is almost a miniature version of the island. In addition to its characteristic Snæfellsjökull glacier, there are black sandy beaches, bird cliffs, spectacular mountains and volcanic craters. On this tour, you will, for example, stop at the small fishing village Arnarstapi, the ancient fishing village Hellnar, visit Djúpalónssandur beach and pass by the iconic Kirkjufell mountain. https://www.re.is/day-tours/the-wonders-of-snaefellsnes
*Whale watching is very popular and it is a great experience. There are four different companies that have daily departures from Reykjavik Old Harbor/West bay. Whale Safari, Reykjavik Sailors, Special Tours http://www.specialtours.is/ and Elding https://elding.is/
*The Glacial Lagoon Jökulsárlón is a tour you should definitely look into if you are willing to take a long daytrip, approximately 14 hours in total. The lagoon is located on the eastern side of the south shore, so you will get to see most of the south shore on this trip as well. The Glacial Lagoon has enormous and ancient icebergs breaking off from Vatnajökull glacier which makes it a really unique sight. There are also regular boat rides in the lagoon for those that want to get the most out of their experience. http://icelagoon.is/zodiac-tours/
*Landmannalaugar is a very picturesque area, which is located in the highlands of Iceland. The landscape allows for both a dramatic and serene experience in the raw nature of Iceland.
